Andremilly EABA 2020

Eaba (pronounced "ee-buh") means "end all be all," and it is an apt name for this stunning blend of 65% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache and 3% Viognier, which represents a selection of the best lots of the vintage. It comes from several vineyards in Santa Barbara County (Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Larner and Alta Mesa), plus Andremily's new Slide Hill estate vineyard in Edna Valley. It was vinified using 70% whole clusters and matured for around 22 months in 50% new French barriques. Aged an additional year in bottle before release, winemaker Jim Binns says that beginning with the 2021 vintage, Eaba will also be aged longer in barrel.- 98+ Robert Parker
